The Lennard still was pioneered by a Forbes Abbott chemical works on the Peninsula and later built at the gas works Ordnance wharf site. Below are reports from two works on tar distillation. The Ordnance Wharf still was uncovered in the 1970s and attempts were made to record its remains and maybe to run it.
